A Barrington staple celebrates its ten year anniversary

Posted

If you’ve been to Barrington as often as I have, or if you are just privy to the trendy boutiques that glitter the town’s main strip, you know that you can find a great pair of chinos, tunics and jewelry anywhere. But, what about home goods? Hollies on the Avenue has been a staple for everything from barware, vintage-inspired décor, nautical serving trays and utensils – you name it.

Owner Holly Smith recently moved Hollies to a larger location and says of her products, “I never put anything in my store that I would not personally buy myself,” says Holly.

Hollies, which is soon to anticipate a ten year anniversary in September, also offers more than just home goods. Children’s gifts like cuddly bunnies and charming porcelain piggy banks are ideal for Easter, and musical GurglePots are a treat for the hostess in your family. There are must-have wares for the warmer months like Kiel James Patrick bracelets, Hatley cotton dresses and tops and Gretchen Scott tunics.

“I used to work in insurance and, although that world was good to me, I’m much happier here. This is truly what I love. I get customers who tell me how much they love gifts someone bought for them years ago. I’ve found what makes me happy.”
