Little Clam has reached its first birthday, and the Newport restaurant isn’t settling for one night of candles and cake. Instead, it’s giving diners a full lineup of reasons to return, from $1 oysters in August to Adult Happy Meals and limited-time burgers rolling into fall.
The restaurant opened inside Wayfinder Newport in summer 2025 with Executive Chef Antonio Wormley at the helm. A Johnson & Wales University graduate and former contestant on Hell’s Kitchen: Battle of the States, Wormley has shaped Little Clam around Rhode Island’s farmers, fishermen, and coastal food traditions, adding global and West Coast influences without losing sight of where the ingredients began.
“A restaurant’s first year is about finding the right rhythm and not only getting to know the people who walk through your doors, but also the local community,” Wormley said. For Little Clam, he added, that rhythm starts with the state’s farmers and fishermen, whose ingredients guide the menu from season to season.
The birthday specials begin August 1 with a happy hour built for strategic snacking. Sundays through Wednesdays from 3-5 PM, guests can order $1 oysters, fries, cucumber salad, Prosecco, and a rotating draft beer. The drink deals are limited to one per guest, though no one’s stopping the table from ordering another round of fries.
Beginning September 1, Little Clam will add Adult Happy Meals to the celebration. Each one pairs a cheeseburger or chicken strips and fries with beer or wine, plus a surprise gift from Vacation, Bogg, or Printfresh. Depending on the box, diners might leave with tinted SPF lip gel, a Bitty Bogg Bag, or a quilted Champagne & Caviar pouch.
The Burger of the Month Club keeps the menu moving, too. August brings a Tuscan Chicken Burger with pesto aioli, mozzarella, crispy prosciutto, and arugula, followed by September’s Street Corn Burger with elote relish, pickled jalapeños, and lime aioli. Fixed Price Fridays return in October with rotating three-course dinners. Visit WayfinderNewport.com or follow @littleclamnewport for reservations, anniversary specials, and menu updates.
