What makes it a Rhody Gem?

For starters, Onshore Brewing is adorable. It’s the side-hustle of new parents Megg and Alex Impagliazzo, a nurse and firefighter/paramedic respectively, who wanted a creative outlet where they could still care for people, just in a different way. “One day Alex found a beat-up vintage trailer on Facebook Marketplace and had the vision of turning it into a beachside coffee shop,” says Megg. One year and a complete rebuild later, the business was off and rolling. When it came to deciding on a location, South Shore Beach was an easy choice because it’s a longtime favorite of the Impagliazzos. “Now in our fourth season, we’ve built a wonderful community of regulars and visitors who come back year after year.” Look for espresso-based drinks and cold brews, chai, matcha, lemonade, and Italian sodas for non-coffee drinkers. “Beyond the drinks, what really makes Onshore special is that it’s part of the beach experience. People stop by before a morning walk, grab a drink between swims, or make us their last stop before heading home,” says Megg. “We’ve watched families make us part of their summer traditions, and seeing familiar faces return every season has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.”
